Dr. Han is a medical doctor, educator and engineer. He is certified by the American Board of Oral Implantology and is an affiliate of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry.
He was appointed Associate Assistant Professor in the Department of Restorative and Prosthodontic Dentistry by The Ohio State University and is actively involved in research projects.
He was also a clinical professor at Korea University and a visiting professor at Won Kwang University, where he lectured and conducted research projects. He advised and assisted many implant companies such as Osstem (Hiossen), Neo and Dio in improving the quality and functionality of their products. From 2006 to 2007, he trained the research and development team of Osstem. More than a hundred dentists have completed training with Dr. Han; he has also lectured internationally to more than a thousand dentists.
Dr. Han graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a degree in chemical engineering in 1988 (the UC College of Engineering invented the suspension bridge in the late 19th century). In 1992 and 2000, he earned both his DDS and Master of Science degrees from Ohio State University.
Dr. Han’s master’s degree in Advanced Dental Materials focused on implant research. When the program addressed tissue engineering, he learned about the potential benefits of PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma).
Since 2000, he has introduced the PRP procedure and used it to improve and advance bone grafting techniques. This phenomenally successful advancement has helped many dentists and their patients and is still taught by many physicians.
He participated in an oral implantology training program at Miami Valley Hospital. Currently, Dr. Han directs his own one-year training program at the David Han Implant Institute in the Atlanta area. His private practice is limited to oral implant dentistry.
He is a loving husband to his wife Yeonyee and father of five children. His hobbies include short track ice skating, golfing, shooting competitions and hunting. He holds a second degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do. He also enjoys outdoor adventures such as camping and hiking.
